    Question setting up a satellite box top a bluerayu recorder

    hi everyone, i have a blueray recorder its a panasonic dmr 750 it has the built in dvt terestrial hd tuners you can watch and record from 1 channel while watching another or record onto the 250gig harddrive thats fitted .anyway but when you connect up a mediastar 9100hd box to it plug it into av 1 or av2 itll record everything onto the harrdrive but it wont record anything onto blank blueray media or dvds i format the dvds beforte use but it doesnt make a difference at all when im trying to record stuff from say foxtel etc and it doesnt comeout ,i was wondering can anyone tell me if theres any settings in have to set up in the menus of the 9100 or the panasonic dmr bw 750 i,f this as good as it gets with blueray recorder ill sell mine to someone its only 1 month old thanks hamguy2 nsw .

    I wonder if there is some kind of Macrovision protection blocking the record to Disc?
    I remember years ago I couldnt play from a DVD player to a TV via a VCR.
    The picture was unviewable,rolling and pulsing.
    The TV didnt have a UHF tuner or AV inputs, only the Antenna In which was how we played tapes or saw the UHF channels on the TV.
    Doesnt this same problem occur with the MyStar/IQ PVR's as well?
    I stand unequivicably behind everything I say , I just dont ever remember saying it !!

    Buy a USB hard drive for the Mediastar. You won't regret it as the PVR functionality is excellent.

    no its not its just not recording anything on the blank dvd media being blueray it records on harrdrive but not dvd meaning blueray media why should i buy a usb drive that defeats the purpose ok ,if this is as good as it gets ill be selling my blueray recorder with over 10 to 15 dvdrw blueray disc and some other 50 gig s blank media as well ,i paid $996 just for the panasionic recorder its like not even 4 weeks old it would hacve to be worth $800 orso with all the blank media and rewritable media .thx hamguy2 nsw

    It's copy protection, both HDCP and Macrovision.
