maybe wma not supported either. older players only play cda
Hi Guys,
looking for some direction please, I have some MP3 tracks that I want to put on a CD to play in my car. The stereo doesn't play MP3 so I converted them to "wma" then burned to the CD. When I try and play it in the car the CD is instantly rejected. Load the same CD onto my PC and its sweet.
Am using I'm Too encoder and various burning proggies because I tried a few.
What am I doing wrong
Thanks in advance

Switch Sound File Converter is free and works well. I use it to do exactly what you are trying to do. A quick google should bring it up somewhere

media player 11 here seems to do it

OKay trying that now......
What burning program you using
Nero and most of the better programs will burn mp3 to wav on the fly, and you will have a normal Audio CD that will play on anything
Choose to make a Audio CD and drag in the mp3's, watch the progress bar on the bottom till it fills to under 700meg (18-20 tracks)

I use nero v9, works perfectly, open smart start, select burn an audio cd, drag and drop mp3's automatically converts them to cdda format or whatever it was that stereos used to use :P
Are you sure you are not just putting a bunch of wav files on a blank disc in iso mode? You have to select cd not dvd in nero for it to work and choose audio cd on the left column.
I was just thinking that so am going to raid a mates place now and grab some Verbatim discs, was using Imation. Didn't think to try in another car though..... will try that too.
Thank you Mandc
as others have said nero will convert and burn on the fly
turn of multisession
Ok to F$%ken summarise
I have used two types of discs, verbatim and Imation
2 burners Pioneer and Asus
4 burnng speeds
tried on 3 cars
Used 3 different encoders and 5 burning programs including Nero 6
I started with Mp3 files and have converted to wma, wav and F$&K knows what else.
The solution is to get a CD player that plays MP3's cause I just dont get it.
I have burned untoll number of Dvd's with the occcasional minor glitch but whenever I do CD they are a $%#@^&*$#.
So thanks all for your assistance
I know how bloody frustrating things can get.
Before you quit, just go over this step by step guide and see if you missed anything
