    Default CD burning issue

    Hi Guys,

looking for some direction please, I have some MP3 tracks that I want to put on a CD to play in my car. The stereo doesn't play MP3 so I converted them to "wma" then burned to the CD. When I try and play it in the car the CD is instantly rejected. Load the same CD onto my PC and its sweet.

Am using I'm Too encoder and various burning proggies because I tried a few.

    What am I doing wrong

    Thanks in advance

Switch Sound File Converter is free and works well. I use it to do exactly what you are trying to do. A quick google should bring it up somewhere

I convert mp3 to wav then burn it, that works for me. I just have a standard 2004 falcon cd player.

    What burning program you using
Nero and most of the better programs will burn mp3 to wav on the fly, and you will have a normal Audio CD that will play on anything

Choose to make a Audio CD and drag in the mp3's, watch the progress bar on the bottom till it fills to under 700meg (18-20 tracks)

I use nero v9, works perfectly, open smart start, select burn an audio cd, drag and drop mp3's automatically converts them to cdda format or whatever it was that stereos used to use :P

Are you sure you are not just putting a bunch of wav files on a blank disc in iso mode? You have to select cd not dvd in nero for it to work and choose audio cd on the left column.

Hi mandc, no definitely audio CD and burning Wav files, have also tried wma. have now used 4 encoders.

I can't find a prog that does mp3/wav/wma to CDA, so far all these other progs have huge lists but nothing about CDA

Nero should do mp3s or wav and make perfect audio cd's for you. There must be another reason. Have you tried the burnt cd's in another cd player or on your dvd player. It could be the brand of blank cd that is the problem...some players hate some blank media

    Ok to F$%ken summarise

I have used two types of discs, verbatim and Imation
    2 burners Pioneer and Asus
    4 burnng speeds
    tried on 3 cars
Used 3 different encoders and 5 burning programs including Nero 6
I started with Mp3 files and have converted to wma, wav and F$&K knows what else.
The solution is to get a CD player that plays MP3's cause I just dont get it.

I have burned untoll number of Dvd's with the occcasional minor glitch but whenever I do CD they are a $%#@^&*$#.

So thanks all for your assistance
