    Default Stuck on the first screen

    Hi, first time poster and about to loose hair over getting igo8 to work on my satnav200.

    I have extreacted (8.3.2.138649 Apr_19_2010.rar) to the root directory of the sd card.

    I then extratced the Branding and Data zip files.

    Changed the file to say igo8.exe.

    Put a UK in the map folder.

    When I get to the main screen on the satnav and press navigation, nothing happens. The icon stays green. It's picking up satterlites ok. But will not start the program.

    Could anyone offer some advisee before I give up.

    how do you start the app by selecting nav path via gps menu or via igo exe in win ce?

    do you get the igo "loading" bootscreen at all?

    could you post a link to where you got that version i might have a go here and see whats happening.

    Default still stuck

    hi, Thanks for replying.

    I turn on the satnav and it goes to a screen with three icons, Settings (which just says about calibrating the screen), GPs receiver (which shows the sat strength and sat's picked up) and navigation which used to start the route 66 program.

    Copy or back-up all folder and files from Rout66 to PC, remember, allowce to see all hide files and folder. Format the card, then extract (8.3.2.138649 Apr_19_2010.rar) to card, remove or delete which files or folder not use, do not extract branding or data.zip, copy all .dll files from R66 to card if it had. Important for device EMHO load differance app, look on R66 what's name it was call the folder and either .exe files, you have to rename Igo8 same with old R66, maybe it will load or you have to unlock it.

    I am using the IGO downloaded from Hollowmans link. I believe its only R16 maps.

    Can I just take the maps from your thread and just overwrite the original map files? Is it simple as that?

    Thanks

    The version of igo that I posted along with the R17 map are what I am using on my GPS. Other than that, I dont know. Hollowmans link to igo itself is dead which is why I have posted a link in my thread to my working and used version with that R17 map.

    I will have a go after work and give an update. Im just going to copy your fbl file across and overwrite the old ones.

    This will save people work who are running IGO successfully and just want to update the maps.

    Default I'll try again

    hi,

    I'm at work at the minute, but will give yor suggestion a go. I'm sure it will work. One of the problems I have is that R66 has stopped working, I've probably delted something while clowning around with the card. I'll have a look around the internet and see if I can get a full version to check if I've deleted something.

    I can't find the link I used to download it, sorry. I took everything off the SD card, backed up into a folder. Extracted the rar into the SD card ans till nothing. There weren't any dll to copy over.

    I've searched ans searched for another copy of igo, but nothing yet. I don't normally give up easy but this is really cheesing me off and I think it might be ebay time.

    Could anyone give me any pointers. I will quite happliy take a rolicking if i'm doing something wrong and deserve to be shouted at.

    Default i'm back

    Hi,

    I downloaded the 8.3.4.102680_2009aug13_PNA and th australia versions. Unrared the PNA version. Put the iGO8 folder onto the card and nothing. I tried just putting all the files onto the card, but not in an Igo8 folder. The navigation icon stays green but nothing happens. I'm beginning to think it might be bust.

    I am doing the obvious wrong.

    I have noticed a file that should be there. crash.txt will it make a difference?

    I'm following this link as to what should be there.

    and another forum quote

    I looked around but it doesn't look like that unit has been unlocked by anyone.

    Default a little closer

    i found out that on the rac satnav200, which this one is. You have to name the igo8.exe file R66Navigate7. It now says when I press navigate: Program Apllication cannot be found.

    I've read a bit and it seams to point to the sys.txt file, below.

    Could anyone offer any pointers?

    [folders]
    app="%SDCARD%/iGO8"

    [interface]
    maxzoom2d=6000000
    show_exit=1
    defaulttilt3d=7600

    [map]
    3d_max_tiltlevel=10000
    3d_max_zoomlevel=3000
    3d_min_zoomlevel=40
    3d_max_zfar=2000

    [smartzoom]
    minangle=0
    maxangle=80

    [tts]
    tts_buffer=65536
    tts_logics=3

    [tts]
    announce_exit_directions=1

    [timezone]
    sync_os_timezone=0
    reset_os_timezone=0

    Yes, i adviced you before, with the IMHO device, you have to rename folder and .exe file for navi load

    [folders]
    app="%SDCARD%/R66Navigate7/R66Navigate7.exe" <(rename iGO8 and igo.exe to that's name)

    [interface]
    maxzoom2d=6000000
    show_exit=1
    defaulttilt3d=7600

    [map]
    3d_max_tiltlevel=10000
    3d_max_zoomlevel=3000
    3d_min_zoomlevel=40
    3d_max_zfar=2000

    [smartzoom]
    minangle=0
    maxangle=80

    [tts]
    tts_buffer=65536
    tts_logics=3

    [tts]
    announce_exit_directions=1

    [timezone]
    sync_os_timezone=0
    reset_os_timezone=0

    Default Another go

    Hi,

    I've tried modifying the sys file to everyway possible.

    app="%SDCARD%/R66Navigate7/R66Navigate7.exe"
    app="StoraCard/R66Navigate7/R66Navigate7.exe"
    app="%SDCARD%/R66Navigate7.exe"

    I've tried havibg all the folders and files in the root folder, which gives the, would you like to reset your POI etc then says there is no application database..
    I've also tried putting all the files in an igo folder and a R66Navigate7 folder. Which just makes the navigation icon go green.

    I have to say I am stumped.

    Are you sure that R66Navigate7.exe doesn't reside on the sdcard root directory?
    If it is then you will need to install igo to the root directory and just rename R66Navigate7.exe to something else.

    If not the follow the following....

    If you can connect your gps to your computer, browse till you find the original R66navigate file.
    Take note of the directory structure which could look like storagecard/R66Navigate7/R66Navigate7.exe
    Now rename the R66Navigate7 folder to something else such as R66Navigate7old.
    With the information you found out, now install igo as per standard install ie. copy igo to your storage card.
    Rename igo folder to R66Navigate7.
    Rename igo.exe to R66Navigate7.exe
    edit igo.sys to point to the directory structure found in the first steps but put "%" before & after the word of your memory card eg app="%storagecard%/R66Navigate7/R66Navigate7.exe"
    Your GPS should now run Igo when you try restart your gps but note because of the structure of the gps you won't be able to run R66 without changing directories back to standard.

    If you want to run more than just 1 gps prog without changing directories I would suggest mio pocket or any file browser that works on your gps and just pick the app exe you want to run.

    I tried on my device, rename folder to different name and either exe file to both ways, the navi button greyed-out. Program Apllication cannot be found or there is no application database..
    It happened seams like yours.
    Now you can add sys.txt:

    [folders]
    app="%SDCARD%/R66Navigate7"

    [interface]
    skin="ui_igo8" (make sure check this "ui_igo8" same on your branding or data.zip)
    maxzoom2d=6000000
    show_exit=1
    defaulttilt3d=7600

    [map]
    3d_max_tiltlevel=10000
    3d_max_zoomlevel=3000
    3d_min_zoomlevel=40
    3d_max_zfar=2000

    [smartzoom]
    minangle=0
    maxangle=80

    [tts]
    tts_buffer=65536
    tts_logics=3

    [tts]
    announce_exit_directions=1

    [timezone]
    sync_os_timezone=0
    reset_os_timezone=0

    Don't put too many command "app=" on sys.txt
