Actually its more of an effort (also notice that wannikino has updated the firmware updater to compete too) than last time with a fair few modifications this time.
Wii Menu 4.3
Unauthorized Modifications
Because unauthorized channels or firmware may impair game play or the Wii console, updating to Wii Menu version 4.3 will check for and automatically remove such unauthorized files.
In addition, there are some behind the scenes enhancements that do not affect any prominently-used features or menus but will improve system performance
Same Guff when 4.2 was released.
Interesting to see what transpires.

Coding in C is like sending a 3 year old to do groceries. You gotta tell them exactly what you want or you'll end up with a cupboard full of pop tarts and pancake mix.
Nintendo seem to have done a better job of patching some exploits
Yea unfortnately for Ninty there is an upgrader out there which upgrades everything except the exploits.

Waninkoko has a 4.3 upgrader, so you still have HomeBrew
4.3B is only needed for USA & JAP

I'm still using 3.2 with a D2Pro modchip, but there are a few games I can't play because they look for the new system updates.
I'm thinking of updating, but I don't want to brick my Wii.
Could someone direct me to an easy walkthrough telling me how to update, which "WADS"??? I need and WTF I do with them please
If you are using a chip just upgrade normally or via a disc which prompts you to update.
No hardware mods are effected by system menus, only softmods.
Better off upgrading via the disc that asks you to upgrade as they will not have the 4.3 update on it.
You will lose NTSC compatibilty from V4.2E but there are work arounds to that

OK thanks for the replies, but as far as i know there is more to it than just clicking "yes" on the update.
Don't I need to be sure the game is PAL? what if it's an NTSC game that has been changed with region fri ? or a brickblocked or scrubbed game?
Wouldn't those things brick my Wii?
Games I'm interested in running are
Marbles balance challenge
Wii Fit Plus
Boom Blox bash party
But I don't want any of my old games that are now working with 3.2 to stop working either.
Doesnt latest f/w of D2pro have brickblocker feature? In that case enable PAL updates & block out of region updates....its like this on Wii-key V2.

Updated D2Pro firmware today, and then the Wii, some of the games that wouldn't play now work, all my old games still work, even the region changed ones so that's cool.
I'm now getting new versions of the games that still don't work.
Thanks for giving me the confidence to take the risk
