Dreamax 470 and Select TV

Hi,

I have a Dreamx 470 (SW ver 1.6 SSD2 March 25 2005, HW ver 1.0 March 25 2005, Bootstrp V001). I have been using it succesfully for FTA on Optus B3.

I have just subsribed to Select TV but the Select TV installer was not able to get the service running because he could not change the Symbol rate to 28800 which is what is required.

In my unit both the "Symbol" and "Polarity" fields are greyed out and there is no apparent way to change it.

By the way I can receive all the other channels on PAS8 and can watch the free to Air ones with no problem.

Can anyone help please.

That's very odd.

Do a factory reset and start over.

Don't insert the card until u have the selectv promo screen. up and viewable.

I have reset to the factory settings and run the autoscan again. Found all the channels except for the Select TV ones. The Symbol and Polarity fields are still greyed out.

Have you entered created a TP with the correct Selectv TP frequency(s)?

I have never seen the dreamax grey out the TP settings before, are you trying to edit an existing TP or create a new one?

Thanks Guys I have managed to work it out. My ignorance showed.

Farmsky you gave me the clue when you mentioned the Select TV TP.

I had been looking at an existing TP set up which does grey out the "symbol" and "frequency" fields. When I "added" the Select TV frequencies it allowed me to also input the value for the symbol field. Easy when you now how.

I do have another question which you can hopefully help me with.

I have 2 Dishes, One is pointed to Optus B3 and the other to PAS8. I also have 2 decoders in different locations in the house. I want to get both satellites on both locations at the same time. Is it possible and if so what do I need to do it.

I have been told I can only get one satellite on each decoder but somehow I think I should be able to get both without having to physically switch the cables and rescan every time I want to go from B3 to PAS8.

whta you need is 2 2-way diseqc switches and 2 dual output lnb's and run a leg from each lnb to a diseqc at each receiver.

I was afraid I was going to need something like this. It was hard enough getting on a hot 30 degree pitch tin roof once. I think I will just have free to air on one and select tv on the other.

I think you may also find that there is 2 Pas 8 listings in the box pas 8 ku and pas8 cband. The box also didn't have selectv details in as the unit generally has quite a old but reliable software version loaded
