Default Service Manual for Samsung la40r81bd LCD

Does anyone have a service manual for the Samsung la40r81bd they wouldnt mind sharing?

Or maybe one of you has seen the issue before. The unit came in with the fault that it turns on and off. There was a couple of blown caps on the the smps which was the only sign of damage, but that wasnt the fault. I also found the PWM (DM0365) was getting very hot so it has also been replaced but still the inverter doesn't stay on.

    Hi cwispy,

That model when it comes in with faulty capacitors. It kills an eeprom ic on the tuner board. When I'm at work tomorrow I'll get the part number for you ok.

It's on it's way & you dont have to change the eeprom if the data is corrupt. Lift pins 5 & 6 & power up, wait to set starts. Shutdown set resolder lifted legs & reprom data. If you need the data sheets let me know.

    Hi Mickstv,

I got that from an emailing list (cinlist) for our trade here in Oz. It was found on a pommy site regarding the cap & eeprom issues on the R7 & M8 series.

Yes we just had this.Changed eeprom and edited settings, however no channels and pic dark.
8 volt reg on main board is stinking hot and has its rail pulled down by something else on main board that is a pig to trace.
    main board is NLA already.
Ours was a LA40N-81BD if anyone has a spare main board that they may wish to unload.

May have to look a different way.

    Hi cwispy,

The partnumber for the ic is 1103-001385 and the board location is IC1803. It's in the middle on the back of unit.

Thanks for that Mick, I was going to ask which one it was. There is a few 24c256 eeproms on the board.

    Mick,

Did you have to reprogram the eeprom on the set you did? I lifted the legs and the set turned on and stayed on for a long time, but reconnecting the eeprom and turning it on does the same thing again, switching on and off, but there is a much longer delay between the power cycling now.

    cheers

Hi cwrispy, When the new eeprom was fitted all I had to do was change the LCD screen settings in the service mode menu and that was it. If you have drama's getting the eeprom I've got one in stock at the moment. Just PM ok.

Also I tried what mrfish suggested as per cinlist but it was a nogo as well.
