If I already have a map "gmapprom" and file "sw.unl" existing in my Garmin and wish to keep them can I add this and what then do I call these new files?

    Thank you.

You don't have to do anything
since the files are different names
you can go into the "Map Info" and enable/disable whatever map you want, why would you want to keep the old map anyway??

Sorry it was called "gmapsupp" as per this download.
The reason is because as soon as I get rid of the other map Garmin asks me to buy this map when I start it up. All I have done is add the "gmapsupp" and "sw.unl" files.

you need to UNLOCK the map also!!

    SW.UNL is for the program
    GMAPSUPP.UNL is for the Map!

use jetmouses keygen to unlock the map....create GMAPSUPP.UNL the same way you created SW.UNL.

with the keygen use the BOTTOM field , click on map type and scroll to the BOTTOM and add custom.....input the PID etc above and hit generate.....paste code into txt doc and name GMAPSUPP.UNL , put in garmin folder.

Can these maps be loaded onto a Garmin gps or are they only for Garmin XT. How do I unlock the maps? I ran jetmouse but mapsource does not recognize the .img file and if I install them into my gps, my gps informs me they are locked. Sorry about the dumb questions but I can’t seem to figure where I am going wrong.

junction view is only for certain types of garmin nuvi unit.....it wont work on chinese or other units....my research has told me this...i stand to be corrected tho.

the jcv file is supposed to go into a folder called funnily enough JCV in your garmin folder.

To use via mapsource you would have to use the Hack Toolset (cgpsmapper, gmaptool and maptoolsetkit programs) to make the IMG maps readable by the Garmin MapSource program I won't get into this here....there are tons of articles already on Google.
