What output are you using for the audio? RCA or SCART? You may want to consider swapping to the other. If you haven't got a SCART input on your TV SCART to RCA or SCART to Component adapters are readily available.
Also, have you tried changing the audio settings on your box. Hit the audio button on the remote and change it from AC3 to Stereo or visa versa.

Try restoring to factory settings and then reloading an image....
