    Default non descript head unit from China & IGO8

    I am at a loss, the other week I got one of those non descript 1 din 7 inch head units from China (Hong Kong to be exact) it came with IGO8 navigation software with instructions how to install it.
    As asked I changed the sys.txt from

    [rawdisplay]
    screen_x=800
    screen_y=480

    to

    [rawdisplay]
    screen_x=480
    screen_y=234
    My full sys.text file looks like this before any altertions from me
    [rawdisplay]
    screen_x=800
    screen_y=480
    [debug]
    skip_eula=1

    [interface]
    maxzoom2d=6000000
    show_exit=1

    Still no joy, what happens is after I do go through the menu and select GPS setup I open the folder with the IGO8, scroll down till I find the file IG8.EXE and select it, exiting the folders till I get back to the main menu where I have the option of selecting:
    Radio
    TV
    AUX
    DVD
    IPOD and finally GPS. I select GPS and what happens is the GPS splash screen comes on for a very few moments then the main menu appears, and nothing more happens. If I go through the process again then the same thing happens.

    I have been reading a lot on the internet on how to get it to work but I am at a loos, I read that if I delete the sys.txt and empty the save folder and let the programme make its own it will work, but no luck yet.
    Any help will be most welcome

    thanks for the help

    Did device has reset button, try that, if still not works, turn unit off, take the SDcard out from slot, restart go to select GPS, select it, i think you will get "no GPS install display" or similar, turn off, put the card back and try again, may be help.

    I had the same problem. Go to the SD card when you plug it into the pc and delete everything in the "save" folder.

    Should work now.

    got it to work, sadly its v8 they sent, but will do for now, one thing though, some info is very tight to the edge of the screen. Is there anything I can do?
