    Default Old Chinese No Name

Hi, I have a double din Ebay special all in one player that has just started showing a white screen with thin horizontal grey lines when turned on. It is about 5 years old and has run fine till now.
The screen resolution is 800 x 480. The only ID I can find is 0283810A-A23E-4DD4-9325-D54FD2D84131 but not sure if that means anything. think it was running Win CE 5 but never really played in the part of it. Am I looking at a paper weight or is there some way of fixing it?
    Thanks in advance.
    Stu

Just pulled the covers off and CPU is Panasonic MN101EF316GXW if that makes a difference.

Threw it back in the bus and now works:

    Details are
    Product ID: SACGM1002 V1.0.8
    System Version: V1.0-2009/12/19
    Serial No. 52495A45534131303032000000000A63
    IGO 8.3.2.93112

Is it prudent to update the firmware and IGO version or would I be tempting fate?

    Default open a GPSAPP.MSK

    Hello,

I have a chinese GPS, screen 4,3 inch (480x272 pixels).

This PND run on Windows6 CE Embeded.

There is a rom, probably by Mediatek.

The desktop looks like iPhone, but some apps are missing, background are not beautifull.

The manufacturer of this GPS give two versions of the ROM : GPSAPP.MSK.

This file is a compressed file, which contains all the apps of the ROM (calculator, music player, Bluetooth, ...).

I'm looking for a software for my computer to build my own ROM and modifie a GPSAPP.MSK.

I search on Google, I have try manu extractor, but I don't find the good software to unpack a GPSAPP.MSK file.

Somebody can help me to find the good software ?

My computer run on Win7, but I have also a computer which run on Win XP.

    Best regards

If I'm right the firmware for your device consists at least of files gpsapp.msk,xip.nb0,Logo.nb0. You have them to be present on SD card if you decide to re-flash the device. Afterwards you don't need them anymore, because contents of gpsapp.msk got copied onto device's internal flash drives. If you want to modify your existing menu / applications system then you do it on the device, not on SD card.

Hence, establish an ActiveSync / WMDC connection between PC and device, then begin modding.

    Hello,

yes, my Device use GPSAPP.MSK, xip.nbo, update.exe .... I put Inside a SD card and reflash the device.

GPSAPP.MSK install the soft Inside the internal flash of the device. Right.

But all the menu, apps, background and icon are Inside a resident flash, which can not access.

There is not USB port on this device, so I can't connected it on PC.

The GPSAPP.MSK is built with a special software for a PC (probably on Win XP), but I don't find it.

I search it to build my own custom ROM.

My device have Bluetooth, is there a way to connect it on PC by Bluetooth and see inside the unvisible resident flash ?

    Best regards,

    Default little break trough

I had a little break on my problem. After a accidental short (12V to GND) the unit entered the update process. Unfortunately maybe the files were not the needed ones.
After the process successfully completed a window appeared with asking to restart. After the restart still no User interface only boot screen. Maybe with a clean OS file without the UI aplication.

    Question CUSP car navigation unit

    Hello,

    I have a CUSP CS-F006 car navigation unit ().

The manufacturer told me that these are the tech specs:

    Driver GM8284C
    Screen HANSTAR
    Flash MT3360
    Loader FORYOU
    laser Hitachi XH
    Memory 256M
    MCU 101EF5AXW
    Sound CS4361
    Amplifier TDA7388
    Tuner SI4755
    Flash ARM11
    CPU 800m
    RAM 256M

For this unit witch firmware can I use? I am able to connect to WinCE using wince tool but it seems that it has different file tree compared with what I've seen on this thread.
Does anyone have a similar unit?

    Thanks,

Default ¿How can I get the firmware?

Hi all, I bricked my gps and can't find the original firwmare.

    Brand and model: eDaoyou X8
    Chipset: Apical
    OS: Win CE 6.0
    CPU: Mstar 2531, ARM Cortex-A7 800Mhz
    Flash: 8gb
    Memory: 256 mb
    Resolution: 800x400

    Application version: 343N-2-3.14.1A-F2-1405241132
    Kernel version: ZYCT343-GN-1311261706

The user interface menu is made from "edy-tech"

Searching i found a "343N-2-3.14.1A-F2-1409051807" firmware which works fine and unbricked the pna, but is only for 128mb ram and the original firmware works with 256mb.
I bought another same gps and actually I have got the bricked and the new, ¿can I get the firmware from the new pna and install it in the old?

    Greetings

The worst part is, they mostly ask here AUSTECH members to search for firmware, etc, rather than searching the Internet for it themselves.
And, most are not even able to contact the manufacturer / seller, for what reasons ever.

    Simple answer: YES.

To describe the HOW-TO in detail here, would be far out of the scope of current thread.

    Default MTK Wince 6.0 128MB RAM 4GB Bluetooth AV-in

    (33.73 MB)

    1. copy firmware (14 files) into 2/4GB MicroSD card.
    2. insert MicroSD card into GPS & power on GPS.
    3. remove MicroSD card when done.
