Default Help for someone in the UK

Hi guys, I have a chinese dvd/ satnav double din in my vehicle. Running a version of CE and it has decided to die on me. It boots with the nissan boot screen, and comes up with the radio part but then closes down. The reversing camera bit still works (as I understand this is a different logic board). The radio was working fine and was driving out of a carpark and the aerial hit lightly on a height restriction (probably nothing to do with it but worth mentioning) and then sound was lost but the screen remained active. The unit also has an analogue tv tuner if that helps track down what is required or do we think it is a hardware issue. Also worth a mention is that the unit had a phone plugged in the USB to charge it wonder if that overloaded something? Can take picture if required. Thanks a lot

I have opened the unit the chipset which I guess is the sat nav/windows part is msb2531 this has a flashing blue led on it. Sequence is led lit during boot screen and then it flashes 2 short pulses then one long one continues like this for 4 attempts then I need to press the reset key and it repeats.

    Default Android in-Dash unit

I added a message way back in November 2012 to the effect that I had fitted a Chinese In-Dash GPS/Entertainment unit to my Pajero. See message #1344 "". The unit was WinCE based.
I did get a lot of use out of the unit. iGo navigation worked well, but OziExplorer 4WD tracks were hopeless. The maps were OK but the interface was terrible. Sort of Windows 3.0 like. The radio and CD worked fine, as did the Steering Wheel controls. I was able to use my 30 pin iPod Classic to listen to music and podcasts. It also had a reversing camera function, which is essential in a 4WD.
Finally the unit died. The screen just faded away. I contacted DIG Options and have moved up to an Android based unit.
Like all things Chinese the fitting instructions were negligible, but there was a sticker on top of the unit with a "wiring diagram". Most of the cables just swapped over from the older WinCE unit, but I did have to add a connector or two. I have fitted the unit into the dash twice so far sorting out the gremlins. Unfortunately the new unit does not come with a 30pin connector to my iPod Classic. I will have to use a Bluetooth dongle. I know. iPod Classics are old now, but mine still works. Maybe someone can give me an idea of an iPod-like app from Google Play which will do the job.
This unit is much quicker and more powerful than the old one. It comes with iGo already installed. The unit can "see" my household WiFi and so I can connect to Google whilst in the car. I have managed to connect my iPhone 6s for Phone calls, and the unit has a mode, which I have never used before, which emulates Apple Car Play. So Apple maps can come up on the screen. I have yet to get my iPad to connect, but when it does I hope to get my Hema Explorer maps up on the dash, which would be awesome.
The unit comes with quite a few apps installed. One allows you to set the steering wheel controls to work features like volume and mode in the radio and audio.
The reversing camera works fine, and is a bit sharper that the old unit, with the original camera still fitted.
I have got into the system and noted the serial number and so forth. It is running Android version 8.0.0 which I think is a pretty late version of Android. It has an 8 core 64bit CPU.
I will post more details as I learn the system.
Overall the Android system is a quantum leap up from Windows CE, which Microsoft has stopped supporting.
I hope this information is useful to someone.

Thumbs up LESHP satnav / media player 84.PM_A9.E-5.020131212

Hi all, i have a LESHP 7" satnav / media player but the movie player on it is really past it's best i think, was looking to update it somehow but it comes with no support website, my sat nav is ok as i already have built in sat nav in car but was using it as a media player but for some reason it only shows 20 movie files from the sd card (even though there are over 200 files on it), does anyone know anywhere i can update this, not bothered if it's the same set up as i'll be happy with newer up to date player if that helps. 2 pics below. thanks

I'm guessing it may only accept memory cards up to a particular capacity.

Never thought of that actually, it does read the sd card though (which is a 16gb) i can put 200 mp4 files on the card, transfer it to my media player and it is showing 52, when i put sd card back in pc it also now shows 52...the other 140+ files have gone.

Hey guys, I have been trying to find out where the hidden menu is on this or at least a firmware update. The GPS has never worked along with some other issues. Can anyone help? It has no brand name but the model is a 6516.
