The Chinese GPS Firmware Thread

With a help of a techy who lives & breaths GPS's has hit on the problem apparently it is to do with voice selection....who would have guessed this! For Australia only 2 voice are available female & male. The parameters are Natural voice street names are not announced as a result no warning announcements Now if UK English voice is selected TTS voice street names announced Verbal warnings now work Does any know how to change a voice to have this parameter?

Unit bought recently as new; worked until I loaded invalid map files, now won't start up.
Flashes up 'MediaTek' with stripy background for a second or so, then blanks, then white screen, then blanks, then repeats the whole sequence.
Silly me, failed to note system info details!
I've tried to search this thread for matches with any parts of the text on the chip, but no useful matches.
Grateful for any assistance with locating firmware.

Can't see how to edit or remove my post, so here's the latest:

I tracked down the problem to a bad USB cable, which was not allowing the battery to charge; eventually the battery ran down enough to cause erratic behaviour. All fine again now.

I have Aonerex GPS 7 inch 800x480pixel, 258MB/8GB. Mstar, WinCE 6 has "Open Serial Port Error" problem.
After watching youtube () and downloading the included firmware
then try updating it with some firmware if it fits, once it's finished it's always stuck on the calibration screen
(plus sign doesn't move when touched, previously normal)

after few days i found DIY & STUFF youtube chanel ()
"Open Serial ports Error" fixed on Chinese GPS

which in the description can be downloaded some firmware for GPS WinCE.
Hopefully it can solve my gps problem.

2 method :
find a card which is less than 2GB, make sure the card is empty , there is no file in the sd card . unzip the firmware to the sd card ,----turn off the device , and then insert the sd card ,keep charging , then the firmware will work automaticly

I can be flash a firmware called 2Drive_CortexA7_128MRAM_capacitive, but still locked on the start screen..

Sometimes sellers are able to provide firmware, considering you purchased it recently it might be worth asking if they can.
Can you remove whatever files you believe were incorrect by plugging it in to a computer and accessing it?
