Coops is just relaying info he found out, and kindly put a copy here for us to see...he can't really tell you your answer...perhaps you could email the seller ( see link) or ask him a question via the ebay web page?

Sorry mate, like Viewer said, I really have no idea. To be honest I wouldn't expect much out of them but that is based purely on their price. I'd imagine that it has probably got some dicky navigational structure like all the other cheap Chinese stuff that I've bought over the years.

The only reason I posted it is in the vain hope that someone on the forum may own one and could pass on the pro's and con's of the unit.

I tried to research a bit but the problem with these things is a google search is often futile as often the same item is re-badged several times.

Thanks gentleman. Is the limitations in Symbol rates an issue for our use? Is the DVB-S2 is only the high def feeds?

OK...I asked the seller this via question on Ebay...

    Hi,

Can you please tell me what Symbol rates this receiver is capable of entry into it's menu systems? Is it fixed on some rates, or is it adjustable, and what are the higher and lower limits of it's SR?

Let's wait for the response on the site, or if he sends it to me, I'll post up the answer.

I asked the seller if it ran dream images and he said that they didn't.

Jsat - What's the go with the symbol rates?

    Not necessarily so.

The specifications cited, although failing to specifically list data rates, does state that the receiver is capable of SCPC and MCPC reception. (See point (5) under Basic Features - "SCPC & MCPC receivable from C/Ku band satellites").

Now, SCPC (Single Channel per Carrier) refers to low symbol rates, e.g. 3333, 6666, 8889 (MegaSymbols per second) etc. and MCPC (Multiple Channel per Carrier) refers to higher symbol rates e.g. 20400, 27500 (MegaSymbols per second), etc.

On this basis, we can at least say, that the receiver is not limited to the symbol rates suggested above.

A quick Google reveals that the receiver is sold by many overseas vendors.
