Scheduled Tasks

Just wondering if anyone else has this problem. I run backups using ntbackup and used scheduled tasks to run it every week. Issue is sometimes it does not run for no apparent reason. Delete the task and create new and it ia allright for a few weeks then stops again.

I believe it is XP Scheduled Tasks Issues. Anyone else use other software to schedule backups? or could it be ntbackup?

Does it hang because the tape is full. This means that the process hangs waiting for the loading.

When it doesn't fire kill any ntbackup process running and re-execute the scheduled task. It will then display on the desktop and you can see what errors it generates.

I would also configure the options to save the logfile of the backup to a file c:\backup.log as this will provide more information and have the file emailed to your account each day to ensure the backup has completed.
