Default Foxtel IQ with 2 dish cables

Hello, I swapped my Foxtel set top box over with the one in the other room (non IQ box). I only have one plug on the wall going to the dish in that room, and the other one had 2 (going to both inputs on the IQ box).

So what i am asking is can i get a splitter? or do i need a cable going all the way to the dish? Will double the voltage blow the dish up?

    kent.

thier should be a multiswitch in the roof
you need to run an extra cable from it to your iq

... not sure exactly what you are saying .. so here is my take on it ...

    1. You have 2 sat receivers with 1 'dish'
    2. The receivers are in seperate rooms
    3. One of the receivers is an IQ
    4. The IQ receiver had 2 cable connections going to it (rear)
    5. You unplugged the IQ receiver and moved it to the room with the single cable connected receiver
    6. The IQ now has a single cable connected to its input
    7. The non IQ receiver is in the room where there are 2 cable connections available
    8. You want to know if you should plug-in both these cables into the non IQ receiver?

    Hope the above is correct?

If so ... here is my take ...

    1. The IQ can record 2 independant channels - so its most likely has 2 tuners - hence the two cables.
    2. The installation probably already has taken into account the seperate 'feeds' with regard to 'split' or even a dual LNB - so it can cope with sinultaneous use of H pol or V pol channels being used.
    3. The non IQ receiver just needs one of these cables (either one) to be connected to the input of the LNB
    4. The IQ receiver which was moved to room with one connection cable - will need a fully independant 'feed' - putting a splitter on this will not allow H/V switching (it will interfeer with other channels not on same polarization). You are most likely going to need to run a cable from the (most likely) dual LNB to the new room with the IQ to get proper switching - OR simply get an extention to the cable from the other room which is NOT being used now.

Hope all of the above makes sense
