    Default Win 7 64bit

Hi all, Just wondering if someone might have had this problem before. I've installed windows 7 64bit pro. When you try to play avi files in windows media player the the computer will crash and go to a black screen then you have to hard reset it. I have tried installing K-lite 64bit codec pack but it made no difference.

This same computer was running the 32bit version previously without any problems.

Thanks diavalo, I was running an ATI x1300 card with the default windows driver as ATI doesn't have win7 drivers for this one. So I removed it and are running now on the onboard graphics card with windows 7 drivers from ASUS website. It still has the same problem. Looks like I might have to lashout and buy a new graphics card.

Problem fixed. I uninstalled k-lite. Then went to a website called "Shark007.net" and downloaded 2 files and installed.

    Win7codecs_v256
    x64 Components_v260

When finished it gave a settings application for 64bit. I told it to run windows mediaplayer 64bit version.

So if anyone else has this problem this should fix it for you ok.
