    Default 3.3e and updating

well the wii has been brought out of the cupboard again, previosuly i used this installer - which was working great using usb loader

well new games are asking to update, first question is - if i do with this brick the wii, do nothing, get rid of the homebrew..?

if someone can point me in the direction of a guide or tell me what i have to do, all they want is to play the newest games and still use usb loader and hopefully the games that are stored on there

i have found newer guides but they seem to be talking about a virgin wii, not sure if having this homebrew would affect it?

    thanks all

    ok thanks

i found the guide your talking about and followed it... so now i am on 4.2

now i was getting ret-1 error in usb loader after doing this. i read and found that i should install cios36 rev 10? i tried to install this and it also gave ret-1 error

i then found there was a new usb loader, and have tried to run/install it... i get a white screen the same as here -

now for some reason i tried installing these - cios38rev17 and hermes cios 222 rev5.. and both of these installed ok. soemwhere along the lines i tried the new usb loader.. it worked but the 30 secs timed out for the drive

now the new usb loader gives the white screen again, and the old 1.5 freezes when its trying to load the drive...

    any help?

im guesing that i am just missing a ios or cios or something.. anthing i can try?
    thanks

Try switching which USB socket the HDD is connected into. Vaguely recall one of the updates modified this so some other Wii USB device (Wii Speak maybe?)could be used on the default socket.

    Default wii mod

dont know why u need to install other ios then the 1 from NUS. THAT WOULD HAVE DOWNLOADED EVERYIOS REQ, TRY DIFFERENT usb loaders ie i hade problems with the usbloader gx then i tried the configurable usb loader it picked up the hard drive which already had games on it ok also then deleted usb loadergx and installed together with fowarder channel and all sweet ,cheers
