Maybe check the optional updates in windows update as some of them are for windows compatability. and they won't come down automatically.

I'm running W7 ultimate x64 and running office enterprise 07 with no problems. I'm not a 100% sure you must install sp2 for office, some comps had issues with outlook and others.

The install i just did seems to work ok and it doesn't even have sp1 in it.

What I've found the best especially for sound drivers is as soon as the install finishes before installing any drivers (Besides lan if needed) do a windows update.

I have a Creative X-Fi card and the drivers you download from creative suck, but the ones through windows update work perfectly.

The only driver I don't get from Windows Update is the Video Card driver.

I'm running Office 2003, I hate the crappy ribbon,
But I have tried Office 2007 and Office 2010 64Bit all work fine.

I'd say give it a format and install Windows 7 64 again and run windows update.
You can do this prior to using the loaders that are around too, just don't install Malicious Software Removal Tool..

    its fine on 32 bit

If you use a loader on Win 7, the malicious software update can sometimes remove the loader. But if you're using a legit version its fine to install.

I have two trouble free 64bit win7 installations. As has been mentioned, the only driver i manually installed was for the gfx card. My enterprise copy of office 2007 worked out of the box.

Creative have a poor track record with drivers and 64bit OSs.

    Cheers.
