Gamma card programming with a Infinity

I haven't done much card work for a couple of years now. I used to make aur0ra cards (goldies) and I would like to get back into playing with cards.

My question is, can I use my old Infinity USB Phoenix to program gamma cards?

I have done some googling but keep finding post saying 'I think you can' or 'it should work'. I don't want to go out and buy a gamma card and then fry it day 1.

any serial based phoenix programmer@3.57 mhz will do the job.....

timing is critical though, most usb-serial adaptors cause problems.

you won't fry it, but you may not be able to program it with that programmer, as it is usb.

if it won't do it, just buy a cheap serial phoenix, assuming you have a hardware serial port.
