    Default IP Tunnel ?

    Hi,

I have a website hosted in another country and was wondering if I can use that site to be my own private proxy so that my internet access appears to be coming from that site, rather than bigpond.

Some time ago I saw mention of an IP tunnel program to do this, but can't find it now I'm interested in it.

Has anyone here used something like this? If so, what program did you try?

    Thanks

    Peter

Hi There. If it's a non aust IP address your after, I have used public VPN services in the past to achieve this. There's a number of free services around the net, but I've found them to be a bit slow. Perhaps this is too tempt you into using their paid services.

Have not used either of those. I have a squid proxy server set up on a VPS.

If I need stuff encrypted I proxy it through an SSH tunnel.

    Thanks all for that.

I've been working my way through the suggestions, and following leads from there. It's a lot to take in and understand, but I will get there.

    Thanks

    Peter
