    Default 3rd party Austar decoder

    This is my first post so please be kind. I have a legitimate Austar subscription but wish to update my decoder. Could I please have recomendations on the cheaper side Ebay will more than likely be my place of purchase. I require component video out digital audio plus rf for my in house system also something compatible with those other cards. While searching this forum I also have come across card spliting all my av equipment is located in a data room and piped through a distro system would it be possible to purchase a card spliter and use the new 3rd party decoder and the Austar decoder if so some info on this as well.

    come on guys you seem to know just about everything surely a good 3rd party Austar box can't be hard to find.

    Yes, But I have and would advise the SRT4658X with a cam port for basically the same price. You never know, you might want a cam. At least you can run 2 cards the same time and the firmware for a cam is always upgradeable. You may need to do that to read the card in the future.

    thank you 4658 it is then will the original austar card lock the strong to the card like the austar boxes do and can this be reversed. Is conecting it up as simple as plugging in puting in the card and switching on.

    It is as simple as plugging in puting in the card and switching on.

    You can move the card to & from the Strong and Austar decoders without any issues.

    great guys I work in retail land and found out today I can buy strong direct about $80 ex placed today if I use a card splitter using the original austar card can I split it between the austar box and the strong. I was also told by stong if it is any interest the next shipment of str4685x that comes over will have adjustable voltage to help eliminate the burning issues you mention on some smart cards.
