    Default diffrence in Original Dreambox and Clone

    Hi there.
    Have anyone experienced a genuine and clone DreamBox 500. Whats the diffrence with respect to reliability.

    Pretty much no difference if you buy one from a reputable source ( of which there are a couple on this site )

    I had an original , but it blew up

    The clones with the F Type connectors in line with the RS232 connector seem to be pretty rubbish Clone DM's. Poor ethernet performance with streaming etc.
    However the "good" ones have the F Type connectors in line with the RCA connectors, and have "Revision 8.3" on the mainboard. Will try and take a photo of both, and post it.

    I don't agree bartender, they're all pretty good.

    It's what people do with them after they're manufactured that determines relaibility.


    Particularly novices who are ......"learning".

    I disagree z80 - there good clones and cheap nasty clones

    * Poor quality remotes & buttons
    * Poor quality psu

    I don't think that z80 was saying that there isn't good or bad clones, i think what he meant was the example above is not a good way to judge a good box or cheap nasty box.
