i dont know the source etc. maybe copy from another machine
Hi all,
i've got my sons netbook and he just told me that it wont boot up.
i tried starting it and it comes up with an error.
"Windows could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt: System32\Drivers\Ntfs.sys.
you can attempt to repair this file by starting Windows Setup using the original setup CD ROM.
Select 'r' at the first screen to start repair
The problem i have is that the netbook doesn't have a cd rom so i cant repair the windows file.
How can i repair the installation without the CD.
Any help appreciated.

Thanks for the link. I'll tri it out later on but I wasn't sure if I was able to boot into safe mode.
Try what problem child said but if that doesn't work try a program called Win to flash to make a bootable flash-drive then boot from usb and do a repair. There are other ways to do this but this program makes it very easy.
Stop being so stupid.. it’s my turn!!
Thanks for that but when i tried booting into safe mode, the same error came up.
I'll try you suggestion ageno2gen1 and let you know how it goes.

You could use a live CD (a linux free distribution) an try to copy the file
