Default Current size limit for modded Xbox HD

Does anyone know what the current size limitation, ie, BIOS limit for a modded Xbox is ?

I did one about 12 months ago and I think the limit then was 400Gb, just wondering if this has changed ?
    Common sense isn't !!!

there's no definative answer to this, I wouldn't go bigger than 750Gb.

Thanks for the info, I'll probably go for a 500Gb as they seem to be the optimum price point at the moment, although I was sniffing around the other night and found a description of a modded xbox with a case adapter that increases the height of the unit and allowed for the fitting of 4 500Gb drives !!!

its called an extender case, will only allow 3 HDD's and only 1 can be used at a time.

    Thanks Mick,

That clears a bit up, I guess then, the limitation for hard disk size is largely due to the size limit on IDE drives. Have you had any experience using an IDE to SATA adapter with an XBox, I'm assuming it should work ?
