    Default Channel swap time (again)

On some decoders, you will note today, 10 January 08 some services 'missing'.

Example are CI, FUEL, Biography, Food (i think), etc (The 12688 that carried these is shifting around, now runs mostly 'Spares').

An individual rescan of both 12598 and 12398 detail only - should return them.

Should be getting quite a lot of this in 2008, what with new sat, HD, bandplans etc.

Thanks for the heads up mate
For those with Humax's I've put up to
    a new January Map.
Remember this is a 5400, so check your Humbox settings.

    Default map

Maxwell can you please help out with how to load the map file. I would search for it but as everything is still down it makes it hard.
I have a humax but have never sent any files to it before so any info would be of great help.

    Thanks Barney.

    Not a problem mate.
    I use HUMBOX - I've uploaded it
    Run the program
From the EDIT tab select the options you want to use
From the FILE tab, load the HNF file I left previously
Get a NULL MODEM cable and connect from the COMM port on your PC to the COMM port on the humax
From your Humax remote press the RED ON/OFF button to turn your humax off
From the PC and while HUMBOX is running and you've set the communication protocols SELECT the IRD tab and select DOWNLOAD TO HUMAX
Now, from the HUMAX remote, again press the ON/OFF button.

If the settings are correct then the map will upload.

If you have any probs, send me a PM and I'll give you a phone number and I'll talk you through it.

There are other programs on the market that will do this, but this is what I use

Ohh, I just thought as well, prior to doing anything, go to your Humax MENU
    Select Installation
    Enter the Password, usually 0000
    Select STATUS
    Select STB Status
    Write down the System ID

You will need this number when setting up the HUMBOX options in the FILE/OPTIONS tab when you select your MODEL.

    Another thought occured.
If you don't have a COMM port on your computer, trial and error suggest are the best I've found on the nett so far.

If you don't have a NULL MODEM cable are handy to keep around

Thanks alot for the info will let you know how I go.

Should I clear the scanned channels I have before I do this or will this overwrite what is already there.

    Thanks Barney.

An easy way to build a Null Modem cable is to aquire 1 of and 1 of
Use a standard Null modem pinout or if it helps I've put a quick document
Then all you need do is connect the items with an RJ45 cable

    Too easy!

    Default Channel numbers

    Hi Maxwell,

Thanks for the humax channel listing settings. (greatly appreciated). I have one question though...do you know to set the channel numbers to mirror Foxtel ??

    Eg TV1 channel 101
    Movie One channel 411

I am trying to use my Humax box with an Oztivo box and need the sat box to have the same channel mappings as Foxtel.

    Cheers,

    KronK.

Kronky, I havent seen an option for that, not even in Humbox. It should be possible, maybe we should ask the author of humbox to include the option in the next update.

hmm I knew a kronk once, but he was a cronk, with chicken legs! any relation?
