Can you get ADSL2 with Telstra ? They are offering some pretty good deals at the moment.
If you cant, they give you 8 mb.

i would personally go for another provider than telstra.. they over charge and under deliver.
try tpg and generally adsl2 is the faster and cheaper option....
if you search providers and check availability thru them al they use is phone number for exchange availability.

he cant get adsl2 from tpg or others, only option is probably Telstra

If you dont have a phone, use next door neighbours phone number or someone close to you, if they can get it, then chances are you can too.

Not on their latest offerings they dont. There are a lot of ISP's losing customers at the moment and they are all going to Telstra.

Chooky if you are going to bundle then Telstra is a consideration (the above $89 for 200Gb is a bundled price). If you can get ADSL2 then I would suggest checking around because depending on your usage other plans may be better for you (check at )

If you do go Bigpond and you have the choice between cable and ADSL and are planning on staying with them for a while (i.e. 24 month contract) then its probably worth going the cable, if you are in melbourne you might be able to get 100Mbit with them. If you are going with Optus cable then definately go the cable route as you should get 100mbit download (cant remember what the upload is but its better than ADSL2), ad their network is DOCIS3 (unlike slack old Bigpond).
Coding in C is like sending a 3 year old to do groceries. You gotta tell them exactly what you want or you'll end up with a cupboard full of pop tarts and pancake mix.

    Default choose your plan well

ALl i can say is that you should do your research... I looked online and saw which ISPs had a bad review and steered clear of them. In the end I chose internode, but i really, really regret it. They have very poor stability on the line, with the connection coming and going constantly, and I can't reach anywhere near the speeds they advertise. Its about 50% slower than my previous ISP, TPG!

My advice... steer clear of internode!

I would have said the complete opposite. I switched to Internode a couple of years ago and have never looked back.

I'm stuck on ASDL1, but that's a Telstra issue, not Internodes. However I recently upgraded to an ADSL1-Fast connection and it works a treat.

I am in the same boat as you GavinSV and have also moved to fast connection ADSL1. Very happy with Internode.

Thumbs up adsl1 and 2 we all need the nbn now

hi guys, im in newcastle nsw im on adsl 2 here i pay $99.95 pm thats for 60gigs a month including my phone. the company is called idx in paramatta nsw there ok good tech support etc i tried to get the big plan off optus theyve been advertising but there were no optus ports at my exchange.. my speed if i go over 60gigs it keeps on going 1 month i downloaded 90 gigs i paid over $100 orso just in download excess charges etc. i dont think the isp provider should be aloud to turn your speed back unless you request them, also im after a bigger download limit bcz soon im going to be getting which weve alrerady used them to test they are go to provide us with 200 channels of direct tv from the usa which we then get a slingbox then the slingbox runs to our tv then we will get decent programming full hd and sd channels together etc then we will be right then we wont the ausmark problem or as its called now the universeaus channel which is nearly as worse ausmark etc, but we will be getting 6 hbo movie channnels ,encore movies ,starz ,tcm, cinemax all the discovery channels not the feeds from intelsat8 etc. myself and so far 6 others who have dumped foxtel in favour of this superiour service .thx hamguy2 nsw
