    Default Help MIO Error

    Hi,

Just recently purchased a Pocket Chauffur (no-name) GPS from ebay. Comes preloaded with Route66 which works just fine and dandy. I loaded up the MIO3.3 maps and ini from the lost GPS thread, and put in the card. The GPS tried to load but I got the following error

    C:\Releases\GPS_2006R4_MANTAS\firefly\base\core\ff surface.cpp:301
    Exception in EndPaint
    exiting application

Any ideas on what the problem maybe?

(4.3inch screen with bluetooth for $220 delivered, inc Route66 on a 2MB card running CE4.2 i thing ... well thats what it said on the ebay specs)

    Cheers

Miomap usually exits with an error message, and doesn't working correctly. The problem's origin is in the GX.DLL, and you can change/resolve it with the GAPI program, or downloading from the following links:

This link is for the GX.DLL overwrite the one you have (make a back up of the original)

    Thanks for the pointers InetlliGeorge,

Using the first method (download the file, make up a Shell and copy to SD card yields the following error

    Failed to open file mio/408_272/loading.bmp

I put this error down to there being no such file in the data/mio folder

The second method (of using the mio3.3 files posted on the lost GPS thread and replacing the GX.dll file) will boot mio, however it goes straight to a language selection screen, this language screen only takes up the top 2/3rds of the display. The selection buttons are of the poorest quality and pressing them has no effect other that to make a terrible beeping sound.

Any additional help with either method IntelliGeorge outlined would be greately appreciated.

    Cheers

I ended up downloading a few copies of the app, 3 of them did not work on my GPS unit, one of them did. Here is the location of the MIO3.3 version that works on my 4.3 inch GPS. I had to make a shell file, which was easy enough.

There is no map with this download, but the maps can be downloaded from GPSunderground.

    Cheers
