Thumbs up How many panels do I need ?

    Hi,
Looking for advice from an expert !

I looked at my last electricity bill being around $500 for the 1/4.

I also looked into the daily useage:

Std rate - approx 21kw/h per day
Off peak - approx 8 kw/h per day

    Question:

Would I need a 4kw system to basically break even on my daily useage and become cost neutral ie: generate enough to meet my daily useage ?

    1) What are the best PV panels to use and brand of inverter ?
    2) How many panels would I need to generate this ?
    3) What would the out of pocket costs be in Sydney for this system ?

    Any help appreciated,

    TIA

    Gav.

You will make 4kwh per day from 1kw of panels when averaged over a year , It's much cheaper to your reduce your usage than spend thousands to cover it with panels.
The average Australian household 2 adults , 2 children usage is 16kwh per day so a 4KW system would be perfect.

As to you other questions you will learn a lot more searching for these answers than hearing one persons opinion , trust me everyone is an expert and everyone has their own opinion on what is best.

And that IS the truth of the matter.
