    Thanks very much for this. I finally got a friends old TT1 Edition 1 to work with this and the 855 2938 OZ map. Not worried about TT home access, main thing for us is the device works properly with your provided navcore and the map I installed.

    I don't know why some people are having problems with TThome, My one is working after I patched it. (can't really see the point in the "operate My tomtom" anyway)

    Not true. The only time I ever need to operate my tomtom with TThome is to import the favourites file when updating to a new map version.

    I finally got TTHome working. Hopefully this may help others with the same problem.

    Firstly, as a noob let me thank all contributors, but especially Greg, lemonfish, DND and 02xdaaus for their detailed posts that have allowed me to update my Navcore and maps.

    To get TTHome working, firstly I patched the TTHome dll as detailed in Greg's earlier posts. This didn't work as TTHome reported that I was still on Navcore 8.010 and did not allow my 860.3101 map to be selected when selecting "Operate my Tom Tom"

    I then played around, trying to "force" TT to tell TTHome I was on Navcore 8.562. I exited TTHome and using Notepad edited the ttgo.bif file on the device (perhaps not a recommended practice??). I changed two lines from:
    ApplicationVersionVersionNumber=8010
    ApplicationVersion=9369
    to
    ApplicationVersionVersionNumber=8562
    ApplicationVersion=438269
    and then re-started TTHome. It all now worked, including "Operate my Tom Tom".

    Problem is - once you restart the the device (when not connected to the PC) a new ttgo.bif file is created and your changes are lost. To overcome this I found I also had to do the same change to the ttgo.bak file (in my case the ttgo.ori file had the correct numbers, but for others you may need to check and change if required).

    This worked for me. As a result I have also noticed my ttgo.ori file is somewhat different than the other two (and seems more up-to-date). I will explore and may consider making all the same. Some queries:

    • Does anyone know how these three ttgo files are used? Should they be different?
    • @ Greg. As your TTHome always worked I wonder what your ttgo.bif file contained for these lines?
    • Lastly (and unrelated). I was on GPS v1.21 prior to the upgrade to 8.562. Is there any advantage to v1.21 (and how would one revert back)?

    Sorry, long first post . I have only just done this - there doesn't seem to be any adverse effects... shall keep you posted if any arise.

    Thank you! This was the solution I've been looking for. The "Operate My ONE" function in TomTom Home now works for me every time.

    I only needed to modify the bif and bak files, since my ttgo.ori file had the correct numbers too.

    Default win 7 directory

    Hi everyone... could anyone tell me the directory to patch tomtom home in windows 7?

    Its definitely not C:\Documents and Settings\User\Application Data\TomTom\HOME\Profiles\hx3vuevm.default\extensi ons\Navcore.8.562.438269@tomtom.com

    Had a look around to see if I could find it in windows 7 and I did find an extension folder but it was empty.

    Cheers.

    You first need to start TomTom Home while your TomTom is plugged into the pc, go the "Operate My TomTom", then shut down TomTom Home. This creates the new profile for the 8.562 navcore which includes the extension folder and the dll file needed for patching Home.
    Try using FastActivate Premium Edition for patching Home. It does it automatically in one click. No need to look for the directory - FastActivate does it for you.

    Default No sound

    I've just installed Navcore from ONE_XL_SD_8.562_SE (Eng) , done the fast activate etc. All went fine.
    Problem, there is nothing coming from the speaker when I select the voice and test, speaker is turned on and volume turned up, and the speaker itself is OK when tested on the earlier navcore.

    Any ideas?

    edit, forgot to say its ONE version1
