with Gw and my testing even on an internal lan setup you must open the ports it uses in your router setup.
i have also found cccam2.0.0 to suck
I've been having a play with Greywolf and on the whole can get it to work but am striking a few problems. I am using version 863b.
1: Not all clients are connecting. Some did but then stop. Only clients are dreamboxes. Can any version of evocamd and cccam connect to greywolf?
2: This is my config for each client:
[Client_0]
Display_Name=dreambox
EMM_Update=1
AutoStart=1
Log_To_File=0
CAMKEY=no camkey
Error_Delay=0
Unit_Type=Newcamd
Name=dream
Password=box
3: These are other settings running a whitey:
[Card_Reader]
Com_Port=COM4
Baud_Rate=9600
Stop_Bits=1
Parity=None
Username=
Password=
Host=
Port=2234
Remote=0
Type=0
[Newcamd_Server_Settings]
TDesKey=0102030405060708091011121314
Port=15000
LogToFile=0
LogFilename=newcamdserver.log
ShowLog=0
MaxLogLines=100
[Misc_Settings]
AllowRemoteClients=0
RemoteClientPort=2234
Auto_Start=0
Startup_Pause=0
Show_Card_Log=0
Show_Clients=1
Show_Client_Log=0
Log_To_File=1
Log_File_Name=ServerLog.txt
Max_Log_Window_Lines=5
Max_Log_Client_Window_Lines=100
EMM_Cache=1
ECM_Cache=1
Bad_ECM_Inc=10
Bad_ECM_Start=250
Bad_ECM_Max=5000
There must be one or more things wrong in the config. Newcs works fine.

dont say linux if i wanted it id install it
unstable and the pixellation was unbearable

and the port i use for GW being 50000
but the other thing is the computer mine is on does GW and GW only nothing else
I have several dreams connected using
3 x mgcamd 1 x cccam 2.04 and 2 x humax with bf430
dont say linux if i wanted it id install it
I use 2.0.0 seems to work fine for me. Strange.
You do have a humax etc connected ? or are they all dreams?
without a humax or similar unit the card missus updates as none of the dreambox emus update the cards
dont say linux if i wanted it id install it
What would be nice would the newer version of greywolf that ol' z80 spoke of, then we wont need humax's.
one has a feeling ash that it could be a while before that one is sorted
dont say linux if i wanted it id install it
There was a suggestion in another thread that evocamd updates the cards, although the discussion was about an nds card.
So is this right:
GW only works with IR1 and IR2 and not NDS.
GW only updates an IR1 or IR2 card if a humax or similar client is connected.
An NDS card updates from a dreambox if running newcs and evocamd with au on but not au auto.
A whitey card DOES or DOESN'T update from a dreambox if running newcs and evocamd? If not is it true MGcamd will release it's next version to do this?
1: yes
2: yes
3: not sure dont have access to n*s any longer to test
4: does not update
5: who knows what the developers will introduce in the future
dont say linux if i wanted it id install it
The connection of greywolf and a humax and a bf430 is an outstanding hardware and software achievement, lots of people learned heaps in those days about comms, cables,protocols,soldering,modems etc etc.
Can't say i'm disappointed, any drovers' dog can get a dreambox sharing or being a client.
I reckon it's a bit hilarious that people need to build season interfaces and pull out the old faithful appliance set tops to keep a card going.
It's back to being a technical hobby again instead of just a rollout of dreamboxes and keyboard tap-tap-tap.
Why spoil a fun ride with a version that works perfectly with anything?
Cause I like the idea of doing tap-tap-tap without the need of serial cables and using a soldering iron and I hate the epg of these humax boxes.
Nah at the end of the day I love my gadgets now who doesn't like there toys boy will always be boys I agree with z80.
Chieflets
LOL...but the wives hate the dreamboxes.
They want something that turns on and works, as for bouquets and rubbish, well they just get themselves all knotted up with all the options.
The best one I like is when her friend tells her to do a factory reset.
And don't you love it when the nice Foxtel man says to press the special button on the remote for active services?
