    Default Testing cctv fibre convertors

I have 2 x 707R Fibre Optic convertors that are not working what testing kit is used, without buying a new unit to try and see where the fault may lie.

    Thanks

Fiber options gear is usually very reliable. The easiest way to test is to grab some small fiber patch leads and test the units that way.

It's been a while since I've played with the gear so beyond that, I'll grab a manual tomorrow and have a look see.

Without knowing the product brand. Most of the gear I use has an R for RX and T for TX, you are not using to RX modules?

The R would possibly indicate you have 2 receivers.
However assuming they were a working set use a short patch lead and test. Check the indication lights.
    Right voltage on power supply?

Make sure someone hasn't swapped your multimode patch leads to a single mode at one end... Yes past experience.

The 707 is GE Fibre Options. The R is receiver or rack mount depending on where it sits in the designation.

S707VR-R = 4ch rack mount video RX. Single fibre multimode.
S707VT-R = 4ch rack mount video TX. Single fibre multimode.
S707VR-E = 4ch can video RX. Single fibre multimode.
S707VT-E = 4ch can video TX. Single fibre multimode.

On the rack devices, there's a set of jumpers to set the device in test mode which generates a test pattern. The same is achieved on the cans via dip switches.

On the rack TX card, set JP1 Test to 1 off, 2 on, 3 off. This enables the test pattern for PAL. Remove 3 when you're finished.
On the can, set SW1 to 1 on, 2 off. Turn 1 off to disable the test pattern when finished.
