Default Purple cam for Strong 4658x

Want to get one for the 4658x to run a goldie and future whitey but not sure what model cam a purple is.....Is this one and is the price ok?

ps I note on their strong page that all 4658x and 4653x are suitable for whiteys now. "Our new stocks have arrived. All units have now been factory modified to vary the smartcard reader voltage depending on the card type."

I've got a 2.21 which works fine in my Strong 4658x and DM7020 with either colors. I haven't used a 2.26 which is apparently less 'naggy'.

Is the 4658x factory modified for the voltage and the 4658 does not vary the smartcard voltage or have I read this wrong?

If they are both the same how do know you are not getting old stock?

Well you do have to wonder how the voltage varies depending on card type. Is it auto sensing or is there a menu selection or a switch somewhere. This would be a Satplus mod not a Strong mod I would guess.

Yep. SatPlus mod, and when I dropped in there, Phil got me to test the mod for him. Works alright, eh. Big here!

So what's the mod and how does the voltage vary with card type?
