    Default New Idiot

    Hi All..

I just bought myself a 60CSx as reccommended by my fellow trailbiking buddies.

The maps that come with the unit are fairly ordinary, I have downloaded the maps from and even managed to get them unzipped.

Now what do I do with them?? I cant seem to get them to show up on the mapsource program that came with the CSx.. Do I need a memory card for the GPS? (i'm thinkin yes as I type this) and how do I get the maps onto the unit??

Also will these maps have roads/ tracks on it aswell?

Sorry for the stupid questions.. I'm a gumby.

1: you have to put the map file you downloaded onto a microSD card "garmin\gmappup.img"
that unit you have does not have built in memory for maps
so you can only add maps via the microSd card

2: if you want roads download the garmin oztopo 2.1 with roads

3: it only has a basemap
you can download a unlocked city navigator map and use it via a microSD card as that gps you have has Automatic routing (turn by turn routing on roads):

    ok Now I get it..

I had to make a folder on my card called GARMIN and then copy the gmappup.img into that..

    Works great now. Cheers!

Now I'm in the process of downloading OZtopo, Will it be the same process?
Will I have to delete the gmappup to install the OZmap?

    Thanks.
