I put in an order with Ozmodchips already to pick up from his store.

However if urban_soulja is selling for $150 I'd cancel that (from OMC) to buy from urb's...

In other news I read that C4eva is jumping onto the PS3 Blu-ray drive firmware modding along with Team Jungle, so it's going to be interesting to see what everyone can do now.

    Wow Ok.

Just found out pricing, im gobsmacked. (If i had known the wholesale price I would not have offered any discounts)

Hence I will only be able to offer discounts on the first 10 units purchased by Austech Members. $10 discount, making it the cheapest in Aus.

Only catch is you need to have been a member for at least 6 months.

If you would like a discount coupon just drop me a friendly PM

Should have stock around the 27th like everyone else.

Link is for those who wish to order.

C4eva together with Team Jungle are working with the BD-ROM, which if successful may be a better means of hacking the PS3 and a cheaper alternative , You know Sony’s going to patch this USB trick real quick so would be idea to hold off for awhile well I am

Blu-ray burner + bluray discs, no unsigned code / Homebrew?

    No Thanks......

You do raise a valid point about S trying to patch the dongle out. However from my understanding of how it works it will be very difficult to do successfully, especially since the dongle is updatable itself. To totally get rid of it they will need a whole new PS3 revision. Similar to the way Pandora batterys do not work with the PSP3002.

Id advise everyone purchasing this to tread very carefully when it comes to updates.

Being just software on a usb stick, I feel it wont be long before someone hacks it and puts the software up for download to your own usb stick, pretty much like memor32 and freemcboot for PS2

Cheers for that, I've just put in an order. Interesting times ahead Hopefully a nice homebrew community will spawn!

    Only problem is,

Its not just a "usb stick" as far as im aware.

P.S those that are ordering and using the coupon, prefer it if you could avoid using paypal as the payment method.

    Thanks

    A good "how to" guide;

PS2 ISO Loader Already? (Personally think its fake but who knows), a lot of homebrew / homedev apps will appear in the near future.

I think its great news that, years later, we are finally at this stage in the PS3 community. Like most have said though, at the price on offer from retailers are very crappy...These people AND their makers just want your money in a hurry...I agree with other austech members who have already warned the same thing -- I'd probably take a bet on WAITING a month or less before another hacking team release their version at...what will probably be 40-60% cheaper than current prices. It doe have its limitations being a USB device...and you're still using the BRdrives' laser for hours a day to backup just a few games.

I do like the name; jailbreak...lol, exactly what it is. Still great to finally see a sneaky breakthrough

Thanks Urban... Great thread and offer you are making.
Personally, i think $150 - $170 for a hack for a machine that has remained hack proof for many years is awesome value. Just think of the work and hours and hours that went into it... and all you have to do is pay some coin and its given to you.

Sure better will come in the furture... but fark me, seems a small price to pay to be in with the first bunch.

SOme people would compliam about the price of a Kit Kat bought from a GoLo store tho

Agree, was only a few years ago $150-$170 was about the going rate to mod a PS2. Sure the chip was only $10-20 or so, and heap of suppliers to keep costs down, but still had to wire in thus voiding your warranty, either spend hours and mod yourself and risk killing your PS2 or pay to have it done properly. $170 PS3 Plug n Play - I can live with that, those that bitch about the price, can miss out and keep paying more for games.

    You need A disc.
Doesn't need to be the game disc you are playing just any disc.
Probably like you need a UMD in the PSP's to boot some games using CFW.
