Quite agree with tmsani, seems all the the later firmware releases are fixing previous firmware bugs and when they release new firmware more bugs, hopefully when Enigma 2 comes along, if it comes along....this box maybe okay

I was on 4785 and didn't see any real reason to upgrade from there as some of the later releases broke things with 5006 looking like it has fixed most.

Opensat Portugal will create new fw with new (better and faster GUI).

Untill now fw releases came from Korea Opensat finds it no longer manageble.

    Also there 's a Enigma2 project going on ( by The_Ripper <mbox dev>)

    Video and Audio are finished

    to do is

    demux and tuners

So seems good days are comming

Have a Premium Plus and a Premium overhere

Nice to see you here and welcome to the forum! I don't know if Enigma is the answer for the Azbox. I've been keeping an eye on developments and I don't know that it will support features such as blindscanning and 4:2:2. I've found the latest firmware to be good and stable. Cards work in the slot and blindscanning picks up feeds (though it's not the fastest blindscanner) and it has a very nice picture!
Anyway you'll know all that since you have a couple of Az's yourself.

    Cheers,

Well personaly I don't think Enigma2 will be the answer to a faster machine

Luckely blind-scan and 4.2.2 is in the hardware, so that should/could work.

As for now I put my money on the new firmware wich will be developed by OpenSat themselfs.

As for stability, i'am quite happy now with the performace no issues there.
Multicas works good connecting to CCcam

Maybe zapping could be a bit faster but overal great performance.

If I was going to pick something I didn't like I would say zapping also but I'm generally happy with it also.

I haven't. I use mine for sat stuff. I'll see if I can find one that large and give it a crack for you.

It would be good if it didn't randomly turn the subtitles on too.

    Diavalo whats your setup?

Do you play from internal hdd - external hdd??

And if yes whats the format (ntfs-fat32-linux native? ) should be ext2

In case off external USB hdd does it has it own power supply

    tried the same file on

1: the internal drive formatted by the unit

2: on a usb drive ntfs

3: on my server running ntfs system.

4: i then tried other blueray rips with the same result

in the end i converted it to dvd (vob) with winavi to see how it would go and worked flawlessly.

i have close to 1tb on the internal drive and the same on the server and has always worked flawlessly. The server is ntfs so it can have larger than 4gig files stored on it because some blueray's are 8-9 gig

Ps: forgot to mention this was the same on both my premium and elite models

First off all Enigma2 is no Azbox/Opensat effort

Enigma talks/lies as you put where leaked in Germany ( the one you talk about)
    They where denied by Opensat/Azbox/Celrun.

We're talking about the E2 project from The_Ripper and co.

So has nothing to do with Azbox lies as you put it, Azbox Opensat or Celrun never said publiced they would release Enigma2 firmware for the HD units.

Guardian is correct Opensat, Have always stated that the Enigma 2 was never in development....by them.

The Ripper and a few other guys have been work on this project, and I wish them luck as they are doing a great job

Well guys here it is, no working video drivers in yet ( they're hoping by the end off this month).

only for Elite and premium model not for the premium plus

power off Azbox (power button backside)
    format USB stick (fat32)
    Load E2 patch.bin on USB
    Put USB in Azbox
power on Azbox (power button backside )
In update menu select E2 fw and press OK
After flashing box reboots LEAVE USB STICK IN BOX
Resque mode comes up and stops with ipnumber in display
now start Azup on PC and put ipnumber in (AzUp is in rar file)
    press update

    Back to Original:

power off Azbox (power button backside)
    Reformat USB stick (fat32)
Load wanted patch.bin ( I have tested latest 3 fw succesfully this morning )
    Put USB in Azbox
power on Azbox (power button backside )
Resque mode comes up and stops with ipnumber in display
now start Azup on PC and put ipnumber in (AzUp is in rar file)
    press update
After update box reboots and comes up with update menu
    Install FW
