faulty splitter or connection (ftype)
i put up 2 dishes today for friends both used 90cm dishes and strong 48x boxes tuned for both aurora and white card. both had signal strength of 90% and quality on most transponders of 85% or higher. both installations are within 2 blocks of each other and have clear lie of sight.
one install works perfect, the other will not receive 12407V or 12689H at all and only gets 12467V intermittently, the pic on all chans on that transponder break up and carry on, but all other transponders have good signal.
also, when entering in transponders manually, some show good sig strength and qual on both H and V (same sig str and qual for both H & V) but these are not the problem transponders.
i changed the lnb over for another new one so its not that, i also tried a new 58x box scanned from scratch, that had the same result. the dish is as fine tuned on the sat as is possible and should be ample signal as there are no obstructions, power lines or anything in the way.
what would be causing this to happen. pulling my hair out n this one, mate wanted one channel in particular, sci fi and that is on the shitty transponder,.
anyone know whats going on here?

faulty splitter or connection (ftype)
A warped dish? (dont laugh it could happen)
Id be leaning to what fandtm666 suggested.
One bad crimp or connecter is all it takes.
ok thanks, easy fix then. why would this only afftect some transponders?
first, try getting the signal bar up on the problem transponders and adjust the lnb skew (twist it clockwise/anti-clockwise). depending on your location, some transponders are more sensitive to skew.
if that doesn't help:
do a factory reset on the problem box.
manually delete all c1 transponders (there are some old transponder settings in some strong firmwares. if the transponder frequency is the same in the strong memory as in the nit table it won't update them).
manually scan 12407/v/30000 2/3 and 12305/h/30000 3/4 with network scan enabled.
if that doesn't work, try a manual scan a few mhz either side of the problem frequencies.
check the firmware on both boxes, probably different....
have you tried swapping boxes ?
I'd double check the lnb skew
I have to agree with fandtm666, check the "F" type connections or splitters.
As you said the unit worked fine when tested at home but not after install.
I`d be checking coax, "F" plugs and splitter if used.
Blown Humax 5400Z, Strong SRT 4658X, Strong 4663X and DM 518.
dodgy connection, local rf interference, lnb skew, ghost in the machine ?
Dish or connector. Probably dish.
