Hi
As far as I know there are no blackspots on Optus C1. It should cover all of Australia.
Provides some info and coverage maps for the bird.
Cheers
A friend of mine is shifting to WA, in the near future...he was wondering whether he would be in a blackspot area, and asked me to post the question on Austech
He is shifting to Bullaring WA. 6373... near Lake Yealering...hopefully some of the WA members would know something about this area, is it in a blackspot area..and would he need to get a satellite package?
Thanks

The original post is asking if the area mentioned is in a terrestrial blackspot, hence the possibility of getting the aurora service!
A friend did the same and to get connected to aurora he had to get a local tv repairman to give him a signal report and if it's lousy enough they will turn you on, but the abc and sbs they did at once. He had to send the report to aurora. He used a 95cm dish and it worked good for him.
Everyone in WA outside of Perth is eligible for an Aurora sub card (with GWN and WIN activated) ... It's the subbies in the NT and Central Australia that have to abide by certain rules (like gaining approval from a pro installer etc etc) ... us in the West need not worry about that pointless stuff.
So, if you're in regional WA waiting for digital GWN and WIN, get Aurora.. it's the next best thing
Yup. Common sense rules in the land of the sand gropers.

Great links Farmsky!
So the yellow "licenced" areas are no questions asked default Aurora approved i take it. Yet there are many many other black spots from Terrestrial TV, is it then up to you on a per customer basis to prove your situation?
ie: in a valley or otherwise not permitting you to recieve Terrestrial FTA services
