And you thought this was another doomsday green thread.
No the sky is not falling. Well at least not most pieces and not on the people I think desperately deserve it

It's quite entertaining. The ratio of space to matter versus the pixel resolution
on the screen, you could be forgiven that space is full of rock.
Truth is, space is mostly that and very rarely something interupts that space.

thats a good watch trash, interesting how many more "rocks" apear after 1min 1min 20 marks, post hubble then again post hubble repair, also interesting to see in the last 5 secs the findings increase outside the usual arc, notice normally the findings appear directly out from our planet, eg away from suns light, but in the last 5secs 2 noticable lines seem to appear at 90deg to the usual finds...
funny! seems to coincide with the opening of Gran Telescopio Canarias, but i could be wrong
When I explained to the guy what avatar I wanted, that wasn't what I meant!

I'm thinking the discoveries are more frequent in later years due to advances in CCD imaging technology. In the early 1980's we were still using film.
When I browse through other astronomy forums, the best deep sky pictures come from the most expensive CCD cameras. Of course skill of the photographer comes into play also, but if that is equal then the most $ and modern gear always wins.
