DM500 Server Problem

I have a DM500 with phoenix on com port running newcs_1.50 with 2 other DM500's connecting via cccam 2.08

The DM500 server is also a box i view channels with.

All works fine for everyone until I change channels to an aurora channel and my boxs switches softcams to SCAM. The other two boxes stop until I go back to an NDS channel. Obviously the NEWCS Server is shutting down when my box does not need it and then starts again when I do.

Does anyone know how to configure the DM500 to:

1. Start automatically
2. keep running when I change chanels

1 start newcs automatically

2 keep newcs running

you have one of the channels/providors set to autocam for SCAM m8, press the blue button and youll see an option for autocam settings, go into this and disable it, then newCS will keep on running no matter what channels you view

so does that mean i will need to manually switch cams to scam when I want to watch an aurora channel?

yes m8, which also means that the people connecting to you will lose their viewing again as newCS is being disabled

i had this trouble with boxes connected to me being cut off if i wanted to change cams to view different european satellites, what i ended up doing was getting another box, using one just as a server with the cards in, then using the new one to do whatever i wanted connected as a slave like the others, then it wouldnt affect any of the other connected boxes

found the solution.

instead of loading newcs from the gemini server, ftp newcs.ppc from your PC to the dreambox /var/bin/newcs.ppc ....dont rename it and make sure the atttributes are 755.

autostart of newsc looks for /var/bin/newcs_1.50...if it is named different then it wont start and wont stop.

to autostart newcs.ppc simpley put a line /var/bin/newcs.ppc into a file named "init" in /var/etc

i.e /car/etc/init will be initiated everytime the dm500 is stard and call newcs.ppc.

It will start and never stop no matter what cam you swith to....
