Default PS3 Firmware 3.42 Released; PS JailBreak Exploit Patched

It’s available now via System Update — but, you know — if you want to stay hacked DO NOT UPDATE! I repeat: DO NOT UPDATE. We’ll keep you posted on what’s what. Stay tuned.

Update: Updating to 3.42 (on my non-hacked console
    ) right now…

Update: I can confirm Sony has patched PSGroove/PSJailBreak/PSFreedom… Whatever you fancy — it’s patched. Do not update if you wish to remain hacked. Perhaps a little homebrew can bypass this mandatory update.

Update: My main man, Demonchild, has confirmed that Logan5 PS3 Proxy Tool works for bypassing this 3.42 update. Keep the Firmware Update box unchecked. This’ll get you back on PSN, but remember: Sony can detect Backup Manager and whatever other homebrew you run, which can likely result in your console getting banned.

Update: Remember this IP: 67.202.81.137? It works again. Set that as your primary & secondary DNS on your PS3 and you’ll be able to bypass 3.42. Thanks MaX SLayeR! Credit goes out to Aaron for the DNS trickery. Respect.
    ****UPDATE****
Delete this, I haven't been online for a few days and jsut saw it posted in another thread. The news sucks for those wanting to go online!

A7MAD - Sorry didn't see your post for putting this information on here first in the other thread.

I'm pretty sure everyone who bought the usb knew that if want to use the hack you can't update the firmware or go online. Same as xbox jtag. Plenty of people don't give a shit about psn. If you do, get a second box.

That's a problem bound to be addressed in the Xbox and PS community in the next year one would hope. I have 2 anyway.

PS: Now I've bothered searching, there's a workable way/fix around the update:
