If I try to go to the SatTronics web site I get this message:

This website account has currently been suspended. Please contact on 0161 976 9636

Does this mean:
a) SatTronics haven't paid their web hosting bill.
b) The crappy ISP at work doesn't work.
c) There's something wrong with the DNS server
d) No one knows for sure
e) All of the above.

It was probably a cached version in your browser dave.

That message would seem to indicate that the hosting account hasnt been paid as it states Suspended , not Cancelled.

sparkd , we can do without the unsubstantiated gossip/rumour theories.

The website was suspended due to a take down notice served on the hosting company from a law firm acting on behalf of Irdeto Access B.V.

Irdeto have , in their wisdom deemed card splitters to be unlawful and an infringement of their intellectual property rights .

I have been involved in the development and manufacture of card splitters
for many years , and will continue to do so , they have never been deemed
to be unlawful or illegal in any way , and offer a innovative solution to many
people in setting up their entertainment systems .

Although I am no longer at the helm of Sattronics , I am still very much involved in the sourcing and supply of products that cater to the needs of the satellite tv enthusiast .

I will continue to develop , manufacture and supply card splitters until such time as they are made illegal .

It doesnt say much for the hosting company if they didnt actually look at your site and make some enquiries about the product before putting up a notice like that. Obviously they think their customers are guilty until proven innocent.

In the last 7-8 years I have had numerous take down/cease and desist correspondance from Irdeto and even one from NDS and have even advised Irdeto to cease and desist annoying me I have been that pissed off.

If you keep having problems send me a PM as I can suggest a few hosting companies who will just throw those notices in the bin without annoying you.
Maybe you could even send Paul an email and see if he would consider hosting your site on this server ?

All they are is scare letters , nothing more. I will admit I shit myself the first time I got one years ago , but they get more ridiculous as they go claiming all sorts of silly shit. For example , I received a takedown notice because Austech is an " illegal " site. A very informative statement indeed . I emailed them asking under what law in what country would the site be deemed illegal ? No answer of course They dont answer any correspondance you email to them.

They should not be taken seriously as they just make up any sort of claim they like knowing quite well it would never stand up in a court of law anywhere and hope that either the site owner or the host will shit themselves and close the site.
