This "feature" was removed by TT with the V8 Navcores, so you won't find any option to turn it back on.
Just another question Downunder about the 9450 Navcore. On one of my TT One New Edition the unit automatically turns itself off when you stop the car and remove the keys. Gives you like 30secs I think to stop it doing that....a good feature I say...however on the other two TT's...XL and One 3rd edition it doesn't do that. Had a good look at all the options but can't find any reference to that. Can you tell me where, if any, place where you can turn this feature on? TNX

Hey all,
Need help uploading new maps. I have read all 11 pages of this thread and still struggling.
I downloaded USA_Canada_910_4892 from the Pirate Bay as a zip/rar file and unzipped file in downloads.
I plugged my XL340S into the laptop and backed up my unit.
I opened my F drive and deleted the current map.
I dragged across the NEW maps (all folders and files) to F drive
I downloaded and dragged across Fastactivate 1.8.8.0 to the F drive (Tomtom)
I clicked all 4 options of fastactivate.
"Update MetaX didn't work. "Could not get file time on server. Check your internet connection. Integrated meta.txt enabled.
Can someone help me out please?
Once I had the META file in the F drive, I found the code and manually inputted it but still wouldn't load maps.
When I click on the "Manage Folders" in the Tomtom HOME, it shows the maps there but says This item cannot be used because it needs to be active first.
My TomTom is XL340S, Navcore 9510, maps attempting to install 910_4892.
Many thanks in advance.
You have made the most common mistake - using an older version of FastActivate. Remember...
ALWAYS USE THE LATEST VERSION OF FASTACTIVATE!
Using the most recent version of FastActivate should activate the map. Make sure you delete the .dct file(s) in the map folder before running the latest version.
Also, I do not recommend downloading any maps from torrent sites. There are plenty of gps forums like this one with map download links. Many files from torrent sites may be infected or corrupted.

Worked perfect! Many thanks Lemonfish.
One more question, I notice all of my information (favorites,POI, home etc) are no longer there? Is this normal and/or is there any way to get them back?
Thanks in advance.
EDIT: Found it, I went into my back-up file and copied the old "Mapsettings.cfg" to my new maps, job done and back in action. Thanks again.

Hey guys,
First of all thanks for all the info you guys are sharing. Sorry for a stupid question but in step 3 (Delete the map folder) do you mean the map inside the tomtom drive? And if so, is it the folder with the installed map name (in my case WesternEurope_1GB) or is it the folder named maps (which only has 1 tlv file) or both?
Also when do I have to type in the meta code?
Thanks!

1) "Step 3"?
Which post are you referring to?
2) "Map inside the TomTom drive"?
The answer would have to be yes, no matter which tutorial or advice you are following.
3) The folder "WesternEurope_1GB" is the map folder you are referring to.
4) Using the latest version of FastActivate, you do not need to type the meta code anywhere. It will patch the map for you.

Do I undersdtand correctly - the only way to download latest FastActivate tool is to install some "iLivid" app onto your PC?
To be honest I dont like to install anything from the internet which a) I dont want b) have no idea what it is., Why I can't just download a file without installing any apps?

Oops. But boy don't they make it easy for you, there are like 5 download buttons. An the one you need is actually the smallest.
Thanks
Thanks for all the help guys!

Thanks for FastActivate Update, but no Australia 915 mete yet.
PLEASE NOTE: Meta integrated up to 23/8/2013 - does not include the latest v915 Australia maps, but if you run FastActivate.exe from within the map folder from my uploads , you will be able to activate the map. The next version will include the v915 Australia maps.
