Default Going to Thailand, any good Pre Paid SIMs to get?

Hey everyone, just helping a friend whom is off to Thailand soon.
She is on THREE MOBILE here in Australia and just enabled International Roaming.

But I will suggest to her just to buy a SIM card when she gets there, lots cheaper than using a bloody Aussie provider.

Does anyone here have any suggestions or experience with Pre Paid SIM providers over there?

I'm just about to start googling now.....

    G'Day Oceanboy,

Good idea, I went to Thailand over Christmas last, it is a great place.

Buying a prepaid is easy, go to any 711 and they sell them, the one that I used cost 400Tbt which is about A$13. I didn't have any trouble connecting and ringing back to Australia and for your $13 you get about 45Min talk time.

Internet cafe are also in plentfull supply and they have broudband access for 1Tbt per minute so MSN and the likes are also available.

    Have fun.

I usually grab the green thai sim card forgot the name but have a few at home. Its not the cheapest but the most robust network in the kingdom.

happy or 12 call are probably the best for coverage and call rates....

don't even think about using an aussie sim over there, unless you like $1000 phone bills....
