    Default Chinese GPS help with IGO8 settings

    Hi all from UK,

    My son has purchased a chinese GPS from ebay,

    post #30

    IGO8 version 8.3.4.102680: win ce 6.0.

    So far things have gone well, IGO8 is running with UK maps, we have installed speedcameras, but having issues with the warning image in the sidebar(secondary turn?) help from the chinese seller is fragmented at best but he (?) tries. We plan to reload all the txt files afresh incase it's user error

    So what issues are we struggling with?
    well there are a few, but these are the current ones:

    1/. in settings - warnings - warn when speeding, unchecking the audible warning is NOT saved.

    2/. in settings - warnings - speedcamera warning, visible warning on not being saved.

    3/. in settings - navigation - automatic overview, checked 'on' setting not being saved.

    From background reading I guess these should appear in either sys.txt or system.ini (or both).

    Can someone point me to the right file + what should be in the file for these settings to work.

    I've been looking at both SYS.TXT & SYSTEM.INI again.

    going over "1/. in settings - warnings - warn when speeding, unchecking the audible warning is NOT saved."

    FROM
    SYS.TXT
    [warning]
    speedwarn_alt_builtup_based=1
    speedcam_visualtype=2
    speedwarn_tolerance=100
    speedcam_warning="1"
    pedestrian_warning="1"
    speedlimit_warning="1"
    speedlimit_warning_voice="1"
    speedcam_soundtype="2"
    speedwarn_toltype="1"
    speedwarn_alt_toltype="1"
    speedcam_visualtype="1"

    SYSTEM.INI
    [warning]
    speedcam_enabled="1"
    speedcam_visualtype="1"
    speedcam_soundtype="2"
    speedlimit_warning_voice="0

    both files seem to conflict, sys.txt is "1" & system.ini is "0"
    should these BOTH be "0" ?

    Default

    SYS.TXT
    [warning]
    speedwarn_alt_builtup_based=1
    speedcam_visualtype=2
    speedwarn_tolerance=100
    speedcam_warning="1"
    pedestrian_warning="1"
    speedlimit_warning="1"
    speedlimit_warning_voice="1"
    speedcam_soundtype="2"
    speedwarn_toltype="1"
    speedwarn_alt_toltype="1"
    speedcam_visualtype="1"

    you can delete all this and just manually configure in setting..make sure you also have all "voices" files

    back up first

    Thumbs up

    Finally got this sorted

    Deleting (renamed) the save folder did not work. Thanks for the suggestion bazzle01.

    kukuk's suggestion to delete all of [warning] within sys.txt did work, but then a couple of other bit stopped, all associated with [warning]. We added a new [warning] with the bits in that had stopped, one was speedwarn_tolerance=100. That solved them.

    That left:-
    3/. in settings - navigation - automatic overview, checked 'on' setting not being saved.

    This we tracked to-

    In sys.txt
    [smartzoom]
    overview=0

    AND
    In system.ini
    [smartzoom]
    overview=1

    Changed sys.txt to
    overview=1

    And all working as desired.
    Thanks for the help.
