    Default c&k 238i

    hi guys i have a c&k238i i got off my mate butt the thing is i dont have the user code or the master code i no i need a defult chip but i have a other c&k 238i alarm in my shed that i have the codes for what would happen if i put the 8 pin chip in the alarm in my shed and put it in this one would it load the codes.

    If you put the one from the shed in the new one it will then have the shed's master code. So enter the shed's master code and go to the change code function. Before anything else, remove the shed's chip (with power still connected) and put the original one back in. You can now change the master code to whatever you want.

    Can't kill 'em with a stick.

    It always amazes me at the amount of sh1tcanning that goes on about the older gear.
    Just because new stuff has more functions doesn't necessarily make them any better at detecting alarms and reporting them.
    They are, after all, only dialers.

    Bit of lightning will do the trick, I replaced a few 236's in bad areas, A company I used to work for was renting them.
    I remember how many amway ones I took over years and years ago, Was sick of them in the end...
