Basically when you sign up they give you a ip, which you use for webhosting.

You then install a client on your pc which checks your ip and then forwards ot to the no ip websites which re- directs traffic to your current valid ip addy.

Ok here's what you've got to do:

    1. Modify your zone configuration
You're already created your No-IP account so you'll need to create CNAME entry for your no-ip account. EG:
      • mywebsite.com 3600 IN CNAME mywebsite.no-ip.info

If you're running a mail server you'll need to do the same for it also. EG:
      • mail 3600 IN CNAME mywebsite.no-ip.info
      • mywebsite.com 360 IN MX 5 mywebsite.no-ip.info
    2. You will need to download and install NO-IPs free DUC (Dynamic Update Client). I'd suggest setting it up and then running it as a service.
    3. Don't forget to forward the correct ports to your server(s)
      • 80 - HTTP & 25 - SMTP
    4. If you're using a mail server - Make sure that you configure your mail servers mail forwarder to your ISPs mail server.

Hi Woodstock, If you're running a webserver using Internode, don't forgot to turn off the firewall in your Internode account settings. By default, the firewall is turned ON and will block incoming http requests on port 80.

Regarding the dns client, if your router supports DDNS (dynamic DNS) then there's no need to install a seperate client on your PC. -Cheers
