I registered my smart card (limited access) before I realised what you meant Gordon.

if you got to and put the address in that you registered your card it will tell you all the info you need, if it is not in the Mildura / Regional South Aus area that is officially available for VAST viewers it WILL not be activated.....you can also check coverage of transmitters on the address you put in ....if no coverage available in you area you will get VAST

Yep, knew that mate. Should be sweet come December, well I hope so after zooming into the Nhulunbuy NT area on the MySat map , thought I was in the green but a closer looks shows yellow!

I've been on the Aurora service for about 5 years so I'm confident.

    Richard,

I think your area is slated for terrestrial digital translators.

Yeah it is mate but I have Aurora because right in line with my house and the transmit dish is a high/medium voltage carry over pole that has a big influence (bad) with the signal.

Understood.... and this is a perfect example of these instances not being taken into consideration (yet) when granting access to VAST..... grrrrr

I'm in Nhulunbuy - got 2 Aurora cards authorised without question a couple of years ago. No mention of existing terrestrial services or poor reception issues. Nhulunbuy is slated as remote Central and Eastern Australia so there should be no trouble for authorised Aurora customers.

Yeah Nhulunbuy here also mate but, if you zoom in on Nhulunbuy on this map here you'll see we are in fact in the Yellow Area and MySatTV states in both the Mildura and South Australian areas Yellow Areas will "not be automatic but will be assessed on a case by case basis"

    Do I now you bros?

    Yup checked that.

I'm starting to wonder if the yellow on the MySat map are for place-marks only and don't in fact designate "yellow area"?

I was thinking they could do all of Australia in yellow on the map, and then designate that anyone in the yellow area can't have VAST.

I just checked my real and phony address and both say I am in a 'No predicted Digital Coverage at this location. You can convert to the VAST Satelitte Service to view free to air Digital TV'.
I will be ringing tomorrow to ask WHEN can I get authorised??
