    Default AFL Grand Final

So who is your tip for the big day ? I would like to see St Kilda win it as Collingwood and its supporters are usually unbearable after winning something Or even before. They pretty much booed Nick Rewoldt off stage at the grand final parade this week when about 140,000 of them took to the streets.

Unfortunately Collingwood are playing almost unbeatable football at the moment, but good luck to the saints and I hope they win.

I hate Collingwood. Hard to see them losing though. They've been playing great.

    No Cheers

Darrel is back home now. He had a minor stroke (again) but from all accounts is doing ok.

I am about 3/4 of the way through his book, a very good read.

My wife, my father 7 outlaws are all bloody Collididn't followers.

I have followed the Saints since I was 6yo.

Today is the day. I hope.

Apart from any preferences.... given their playing performance, Collingwood to win.

not a big fan of the AFL , but I do not think I have missed a GF in over 20 years
tell you what imo if it was not a draw it would have to have been one of the most boring grand finals . Most of the the finals series games were more exciting .
Ok i did not know they did not have extra time ? why not ? I was just listening to the players and agree with em about that . you want aresult on the day not have to to do it again a week later . I thought the AFL would have had extra time in a final series decades ago ?
anyways be entertaining next weekend two grandfinals on the one weekend, NRL and AFL part 2 , how good is that

You'd think so That was only the third in history. I remember listening to the second one when I was 10 in 1977.

There were some great goals and that mark from Goddard was fantastic. There is nothing quite like a 100,000 people in the MCG.

This will be a big week of pressure, not just for the teams but for people to quickly organise a second grand final party

There is extra time for all finals except the Grand Final.

BTW, the last time the AFL had a draw (1977, North and Coll) the NRL had a draw as well......extra time solved nothing.

    Cheers

the big deal is, the afl is the winner, they gunna make a motza.just think about it, u get to go to two grand finals in the same year.

being realistic they have played 120 mins of football, in nrl they play 80min, in soccer they play 90min and in rugby union they play 80mins. some ppl say play extra time, bullshit let it be a draw, same as a horse race and it goes down in history as a draw, or is that to hard ?

    An ex navy mate had a $100.00 @ 40 - 1 for a draw. He picked up a lazy $4,100.00.

I thought the Saints played better and the Collididn'ts had 6 more scoring shots & still couldn't pull it off.

Collingwoood's record in replays is not so hot.

    Bring on next week!!!!!

I thought the Saints stepped right up to the plate after everyone said Collingwog was unbeatable.
They matched Collingwog's defences (as used against Geelong last week) player for player.
At one stage Reiwoldt had three Collingwog players tagging him and still managed to be effective.
As the captains and players said after the game - it was war.
    Brilliant football none the less.
No - I don't barrack for St Kilda.
