Default Running windows 7 AND windows XP on the same machine.

Hey, I'm pretty keen to run win xp pro and windows 7 on the same machine, I know a couple of ways to do it, but I was wondering what some different ways to do it are?

    Cheers, Gab

well i was having ram problems it ended up but in the mean time i killed my win 7 & went back to xp.
then i installed win 7 to a empty partion via the dvd
    works fine,
boots up to win 7 but has the "enter other os option"
i changed the timeout option to 2 seconds so you barely see the options screen
trick is it have xp on it 1st.

yep, XP would definately have to be on it first. Use msconfig > Boot.ini tab or edit your C:\Boot.ini (it may actually be D:\boot.ini if win 7 is installed onto a second partition) to configure various options.

For something different, you can use GRUB as a bootloader.
You could also just have two installations on separate HDDs and quickly swap between the two using your bios (some have a button to select boot device, without entering the bios).
