IGO8- How to display current city name on map?

Can IGO8 show the current city on the map when navigating?
When driving, the current street is shown at the map bottom and it would be good to have the current city joined to it.
I travelled last summer 3 weeks in France in many small towns with hard french names and having the current town name on the map would help a lot...
I find it strange that the city name is not displayed on the navigation map.

Under Australian Law truck drivers that are required to to fill in a Log Book must put write down the name of the place(town or area) where they stopped for a rest break

So further to your question about towns, also add current Area would be good

But I think that would only be able to happen if the map data included the actual area's place name

IGO8 knows for each road and street the city/town and district name and if it is a no name street road or outside of town then IGO8 knows near what city/town it is and in what district (area). The maps has this info inside.
Then showing it on the map is possible.

The name of the place you are driving in is really important.
It can be a city or a town or a village and sometimes smaller then a village. if you are in a city, then normally (not always) you know it when you are driving in. But out of the big cities there are many small towns and villages on your way, and sometimes it is really hard to guess in what village you are. With paper maps the first thing you notice is the place name (city, town or village) and this is good.

Gj6.16 = IGO8 3. not Primo

I normally run 6.18 (igo8.3.2) with minimum info.
Today I went back and tried 6.16 but I cant see any more info

I find that the Navteq (Navteq2Q10Maps) give a better regular change to where you are than the Sensis R17 maps. Using "flyover" after I preset a journey, usually gives me good "where am I?" at the bottom of the screen, using both GJ6.18 and Kikker 3.2
